We were delighted to be nominated for an award at this year's Kent FA workforce awards, and even more delighted to have won the 'Best Project' award for our work with the Genesis football programme!
"Being part of the Genesis football project has been fantastic, and seeing how everyone is benefitting from it, socially, physically and mentally is brilliant."
Genesis Football Medway is an exciting collaborative project between churches and Christian organisations in Medway, Medway Night Shelter, Medway Sport, Anchorians Football Club and Ambassadors Football.
The aim is to engage with marginalised and vulnerable adults, those homeless and vulnerably housed to see an increase in fitness, aspiration, and positive relationships through a weekly opportunity to play football, share a meal together and for those interested, an opportunity to explore faith.
Anchorians Coach, Andy Brown, says "Being part of Genesis football has been fantastic, and seeing how everyone is benefitting from it socially, physically and mentally is brilliant. It's such a valuable local scheme for people in Medway, and I'm glad that Anchorians have been able to be part of this opportunity for the community."
